If your pediatrician is like my daughter’s pediatrician, they will check, recheck, and then triple check that your child is getting enough iron. Iron deficiency is a common problem in children but if your child is iron deficient, you’ll want to address it right away. Iron helps to deliver oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. Babies typically get enough iron in the womb to take them through their first few months outside of the womb. After that, doctors recommend providing an iron supplement and feeding iron-rich foods once your baby begins eating solids.

This puree recipe gives your child a delicious and important dose of iron!
